Celebrating
the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick
This Sacrament
is regularly celebrated twice during the year at all of the Sunday
Masses during the two designated weekends. (Once in late Spring, and
once in the middle of the Fall Season.) Many have referred to this
Sacrament as “The Last Rites.” Please note that the Sacrament is called
“The Anointing of the Sick.”
Spiritual help
is available to those who become sick or are preparing for surgery by
calling for a visit of your pastor or his designate. Please call the
Parish Office when someone is ill or in the hospital and request the
Anointing of the Sick. Please remember that our prayers are for healing
and recuperation of the sick person, who is in need of healing.
Too often, a
person who is sick does not call the pastor to let him know that they
need him to visit or to bring communion and/or to celebrate the
Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Please do not hesitate to let
your pastor know that you are in need of prayer and anointing, and/or
Communion to be brought anytime and even regularly on weekends until
your health is regained.
